Town centre cameras spotted Patrick Crerand, 51, and Steven Green, 49, in the early hours of 25 April smashing the window of Savers in Market Place, Wisbech.

As a police car arrived, they ran into an alleyway where they were cornered and arrested.

They itted the charge of non-dwelling burglary and Green also itted being in possession of heroin.

Crerand, of King’s Street, Wisbech, and Green, of Norwich Road, Wisbech, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on 2 August where they were sentenced to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.

Both must also pay £200 in compensation to Savers.
