No Manchester United team should be losing 4-0 to Crystal Palace. I get the injury issues, but Manchester United's under-23s will have been coached, come through the academy and taught how to play. I think if Manchester United's under-23s played against Crystal Palace tonight, they still wouldn't have lost 4-0 tonight.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag speaking to Sky Sports: "It is clear and it is obvious. This is underperforming. We didn't act how we want to do it and it's by far not good enough. We are very disappointed, but the fans were always behind us and we keep fighting, like the fans did."
On reasons for the defeat: "There are always reasons and everyone sees our backline and we have huge problems. At the end of the day, we have to deal with it and we should have done better than we did."
On the defensive issues for the first goal: "There are five players there and that is a goal that shouldn't happen because we really give clear instructions of how we should defend this. They didn't bring it on the pitch and we got hammered. But, it was what they showed but also, the left side, there was two players doubling up on one player and so, that is very poor defending."
On Casemiro: "You can't put this to one player. It's a team performance. The throw-in where you concede the first goal, that shouldn't happen and that is as a team because we don't follow their rules. We don't adapt to the different situations to organise, to keep control in those situations. Five players over the ball and they have a throw-in, it is not possible."
How damaging is this result is this stage of this season?: "You know that, especially when you come to the end. But still, we have nine points to play [for] and we have to fight for the nine points."
On whether he is capable of turning Manchester United around: "I will keep fighting and I prepared the team in the best way I could do and it was not good enough, by far not good enough. I have to take the responsibility for that, but I will find energy and I will prepare them for Sunday's game."
On Jason Wilcox's : "He's my sounding board, he will be. At the end of the day, I have to do it with the players that are available."
Can you turn it around? "All season, we have huge problems and by now, this is the fourth defeat in this calendar year, so that's not a lot and every time, we had huge problems and many times, we sort it out. Today, we didn't."
If given this summer, with the right and players, can you restore Manchester United?: "Absolutely and the right players are there so when available, we have a good squad. We miss almost the whole back line and then, we have problems."

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner to BBC Sport: "I think the first-half performance wasn't our top level. We gave them too many es. It was an open game in the first half but we were efficent.
"We didn't give them any space in defence [after the break]. Second half was really good but first half we could do better. But the score was amazing.
"It was the fourth game in a row where the other team didn't have 10 shots. This is what we want to do to control the game with a compact defensive shape.
"We know when we get our players in dangerous areas they are able to score goals.
"We will always be very criticial and look at what we can improve.
"Stay humble. Focus on the details. We struggled with defensive set-pays. They could have scored one or two. We always look at what we can improve."
On Jean-Philippe Mateta's form: "He can play better than he did today. He lost too many balls but he has his confidence in scoring. Maybe we have an advantage in our pace. It's nothing we taught him."
On if star players could leave: "It's the job of the club to keep all the players. I know they'll try everything possible. You never know how your squad will look when the next season starts. They're amazing players, this is an amazing group."

Crystal Palace captain Joachim Andersen to BBC Sport: "We had some pretty good results recently. I don't know if it's the best game we played but it's up there. The West Ham game was amazing.
"They had many injuries but it was a great performance and everyone played amazing.
"The coach had us set up perfectly. It's a good atmosphere in the dressing room now.
"I don't think we've conceded many chances with the gaffer. It was a clear win for us. It was a top, top performance.
"We could have scored five in the first half. It's a privilege to play in this team. If we keep everyone fit we can achieve something big. Our front three are on fire.
"Just give them the ball and put it in the end. It's nice to see it from behind."
On whether their star forwards could leave: "I'll be praying the whole summer for them to stay, maybe send them a few messages."

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag to BBC Sport: "As Man Utd we should perform better. The players who were available should do better.
"It's a deserved defeat. The performance wasn't what we expected.
"We can't focus on just one player [Casemiro]. We have to focus on the team performance. This was not right.
"We have to put it right on Sunday. We have to learn from this game and improve.
"I was really grateful [to the fans]. They back us. They see also we have our problems. You have to stick together. You have to take responsibility. The fans gave us such huge and tremendous ."
On his future: "I don't think about this. I prepare the team in the best way I can. We have many problems. The only focus I have is to perform better with my team.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner speaking to Sky Sports: "Congrats to the team for this win and for the 4-0 at home to Man United. I think the first half, we didn't really play well as we could, so it was not that consistent. The defence opened the middle too often and they could find the pockets and we had a little bit of problems, but we were very efficient, so we scored a very nice goals. Then, at half-time, we made two or adaptions and the players listened again and in the second half, we were much better and were in much more control of the game. We created a lot of chances, we scored nice goals, but we were a little bit more consistent in our basics and so, it's a great win and congrats to the team.
How much confidence does your team have?: "A lot. When you have good performances, when you get a lot of points and this game is I think the first game where we didn't give the opponent more than 10 shots. It was a maximum of nine today or seven. Very, very compact in defence and we know we have quality when we get our players in the situations to score a goal and now we have this confidence and efficiency. Of course it is very nice to watch.
The form of Michael Olise and Jean Phillippe Mateta: "They are playing well. We scored after a throw-in playing against Liverpool. We scored from a throw-in against Fulham, so it's no coincidence. We get the players in the positions and then yes, Michael Olise has a great finish. The second one, we maybe adjusted three or four times, we bought Man United to the side and they are pressing and winning the ball and it is Chris Richards or Tyrick Mitchell ing to JP Mateta and okay, we know we have an advantage with the pace. Then, he can show he can score, but it is always teamwork. Daniel wins the ball back against Casemiro after we lost it, so it was a lot of intensity and ion, and then, Michael gets the ball and he has the quality to score the goals, but we need everybody to contribute, otherwise, it wouldn't be possible to win 4-0.
What do you want to read about your team after this win?: "Congrats, good players, good team spirit and a phase, but always stay humble. We know it is not so long ago where we struggled with relegation just five points away, so I think it is five games away, but now we've found us and the players have confidence. That is what we want to read. We are doing well, but we still have a lot to improve.
Are you surprised by your turn in form?: "Yes, it has. It's all the credit to the character of the players because they trusted us from the first day. They listened, they tried and they worked really hard in training and now, they get their reward."

Crystal Palace's dynamic duo Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze have been speaking to Sky Sports.
Olise on the result: "I think it's a good night. Obviously, we've been working hard and focusing on ourselves and we know what we can bring to the table when we're at home. The fans are behind us so I just thought, let's go."
Eze on Olise: "He brings a lot. You can see by his two goals today, you see the quality he has got. You want to play with players like this and the quality he has got is incredible so we enjoy playing together."
Olise on Eze: "He's a top player, he's got quality, dribbling, finishing, everything. I think we've played together for a whole now, not as much as we've wanted to but when we do play together, we enjoy it a lot."
Eze on not being surprised: "I think it says a lot, it is a big statement but we're not surprised. We know what we're capable of, we know what we can do. The quality we've got in the dressing room here is high so we don't see that as a surprise, we know what we came here to do today and it worked."
Olise on whether he should have scored a hat-trick: "Yes, it could've been. Probably [should have been]."
Eze on whether Palace could have scored more: "I think so, I've missed a few chances today and I was probably not as clinical as I should have been but again, you can see we are creating chances, we are not worrying about what is going on behind us. We are attacking, we're aggressive and we are going to continue to create chances for sure."
Olise on hopes for this season: "Of course we don't want to drop off now, we want to continue until the end of the season, keep putting in good performances and see where that leaves us."

"It is what it is. We can't really change the injury things. We have to do what we can on the pitch to change it. Today it didn't matter who we played. Everyone could have done better.
"I don't know what the conclusion is for how it went. We weren't good enough.

In Eze and Olise, Crystal Palace have got two players that would walk into Manchester United's team. Under Oliver Glasner, they have been brilliant. Manchester United never looked like scoring.
On Mason Mount, Antony and Andre Onana whispering to each other as they walked off the pitch: Just get off the pitch. You've lost 4-0 and you were embarrassing. They are probably talking about another player or something like that. Just get off the pitch.
Everton deducted six points and then a further two points, following two separate breaches of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules
Nottingham Forest deducted four points following a breach of the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules. That decision is currently under appeal

Crystal Palace won 1-0 against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this campaign – the Eagles have never completed a league double over the Red Devils.
Manchester United won eight of their first 11 away Premier League games against Crystal Palace (D3) but are winless in their last three (D2 L1).
Manchester United have lost four away Premier League matches in London this season, losing to Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and Chelsea. They have never lost five away league games in the capital in a single season before.
Manchester United have lost eight of their last 14 away Premier League matches in the month of May (W3 D3), with one of those a 1-0 defeat at Selhurst Park in 2022 under Ralf Rangnick.
Crystal Palace have won both of their last two Premier League games at Selhurst Park, last winning three in a row at home in the competition in October 2022. The Eagles have won as many of their five home Premier League games under Oliver Glasner this season (W3 D1 L1) as their 12 such matches under Roy Hodgson beforehand in 2023-24 (W3 D3 L6).
Manchester United have shipped 77 goals in 47 games all competitions this season, their most in a season since 1977-78 (80). Their current ratio of conceding (1.64 goals-per-game) is their worst since the 1962-63 campaign (1.75 per game).
Manchester United have both scored and conceded in each of their last eight Premier League away games – only once have they had a longer such run in the competition, doing so in nine consecutive games between May and November 2001.
Despite only starting five matches and playing 485 minutes at Selhurst Park this season, only Jean-Philippe Mateta (8 goals, 2 assists) has had a hand in more Crystal Palace goals at home in the Premier League than Michael Olise (4 goals, 4 assists). Indeed, across his last eight home league starts, Olise has scored four and assisted seven.
Jean-Phillipe Mateta has scored in each of his five home Premier League appearances under Oliver Glasner (seven goals), having only netted in five out of his first 37 home matches for Crystal Palace beforehand (five goals). The last player to score in his first six home appearances under one manager in the competition was Alan Shearer for Kevin Keegan in 1996-97 (first nine).
In April, Bruno Fernandes created 31 chances in his six appearances in all competitions for Manchester United, seven more than any other Premier League player. He created nine chances in each of his last two Premier League appearances (vs Sheffield United and Burnley), becoming the only player on record to create 9+ chances in consecutive matches (2003-04 onwards).
