More from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag talking to BBC's Match of the Day: "Unbelievable save, Andre is so explosive. He’s such a great
stopper. It’s twice in one action."
On Andre Onana's form: "We all see now how good he is. His reactions are so good, he’s so quick and we saw that with the save in the second half."
On Rasmus Hojlund returning: "Very important. They have to have minutes but also, you want to bring an impact from the bench. If you can bring Hojlund and Rashford, expect to create chances where they are fresh. Run at the defences, be direct, it is a benefit."
On the need to win games like that: "Absolutely, but also, we are in a process. In Brighton, we were equal there. The last 30 minutes, we got a little bit loss of control after we scored what we thought was the winning goal, but then we lose the game, so now we make a step forward. We have a clean sheet and we go away with a clean sheet. We take this, but we have to be more clinical in front of goal than our opponent if you want to be a very good team in the Premier League."
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag talking to BBC's Match of the Day: "The performance is good, but for a performance, you don’t
get points. You have to score a goal. Of course, I am quite disappointed when
you are so dominant in a game. We played some very good football but also did
some very good pressing. You are so dictating in a game but you don’t score.
On whether hitting the bar twice was bad luck: "In that action, absolutely. The finish from Garnacho, nothing wrong with this. Then in the rebound, Bruno, nothing wrong with this. It’s a difficult ball to take. That is bad luck.
On the wingers' performance: "Absolutely, but I think the whole team was performing well.
On Crystal Palace's chances: "Football is relentless, as we all know and they got their moment in the 44th minute. We make one mistake and it was a big chance but also, Onana played a brilliant game. That was a good save but also, especially the one in the second half.

Bobby: Six weeks ago, Ten Hag said United weren't ready for the start of the season. They don't really look any much closer with October just around the corner!
More from Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner speaking to Sky Sports:
On the second half chances: "In the same way Dean Henderson made some good saves in the first half , Onana made a great double save in the second and then Eberechi missed a chance.
"We have to be honest, maybe three points would have been too much but we would have taken them.
On the clean sheet and strong end to the game: "Yes a lot to build on. This week we had three games and not a lot of training time, but now we have two whole weeks for us. The international players of course need a few days to rest but I think we now we start to build on that second half."
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner speaking to Sky Sports: "In the first half Dean Henderson kept us alive and kept us in the game. At the end of the half we had the chance from Eberechi and then in the second half we were much, much better. In the first half we needed a great goalkeeper and fortunately we had one today.
"In the second half we were more organised, we played with more courage and we had two great situations to win the game. In that second half it was more like a Crystal Palace team and that is what we need to be competitive against a team like Manchester United."
On what needed to change at half time: "Everything. I have never seen my Crystal Palce team play like we did in the first half, with no energy, no confidence, both in and out of possession, in set plays etcetera.
"That shows again the spirit we have to make adjustments at half time, switch to a 3-5-2 to close the centre, and then we controlled the game and had our chances in their box. Even when we won the ball we were more direct, played forward more in the second half."
More from Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag on Sky Sports: "That is very difficult for a goalie to be there in the
moment you needed, Dean Henderson also played a very good game, how many balls
he stopped. He was in a rhythm, but Andre has to wait and keep the focus and in
the right moment, you have to be spot on and did brilliant."
On dropping points: "In Brighton, we should have drawn or even win the game there, so we lost three points. Today, we also probably lose two points because of the first half, but the thing is that we don’t lose this game in the end.
On keeping a clean sheet: "We have worked very hard as a team to be defensive, compact. We’ve worked on pressing and you see the benefits from it but also, on the ball, we are very constructive and we have control and that also, we take the breath of the opponent away.
On Rasmus Hojlund's return: "Of course, you want to bring players from the bench with an impact. Now, we could bring Hojlund and Rashford, that brings impact in a game and they need to get up to full speed. I’m sure they will be there to finish the game and to win the game for us."
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag talking to Sky Sports: "When we don’t win, I’m not content. We should have won. I
think first half, we ate them alive. Then in the second half, it was more in
the balance but first half, we should have scored one or two goals."
Did your finishing let you down?: "I don’t think [so], we played very good. Total control of the game. In and out of possession, I think we played very good. The only thing was in the box, that is where the game is always decided. We should be more clinical there."
On Crystal Palace going close themselves:: "It’s always one chance and they got the chance at the 44th minute, it was a big chance [that] they got. By that time, we should have been 2-0, 3-0 up.
On what changed in the second half: "They closed the midfield more and they had some good counter attacks, so it was more difficult. The first place for us to get through and the flip side is then they got more space and they had some good counters. I think it was a brilliant save from Andre Onana twice in one action, it was really brilliant."

This current squad of Manchester United is a cup team, I wont be surprised if they win the Europa League this season because they have no consistency to challenge for the league title.
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, speaking to BBC MOTD: "Dean Henderson kept us alive and in the first half we have never played like this.
"I don't talk about tactics [we played] without courage in and out of possession. Very ive and this is how we don't want to play, but it happened.
"The chance at the end of the first half gave us some confidence - we spoke very honestly at half-time.
"You can always lose a game, but when you lose it you lose it with how we played in the second half.
"Second half was much better, we could've won the game, but honestly it was a bit too much today.
"We have to be critical of us when we play like first half it makes no sense to play like this."
On half-time substitutions: "We needed the runs in behind and we knew the plan before was to play direct and in behind - we didn't play there and we needed a physical presence in midfield.
"Everyone did it in a better way in the second half. We switched the system to control the middle, at the end it worked and I think with the big chances we had in the second half the point is OK for us."
On the clean sheet: "Both goalkeepers, the clean sheet is not the tactical behaviours of the teams. Unbelievable saves form both goalkeepers."
More from Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson speaking to Sky Sports:
On the tricky first half: "You have to concentrate so much and it is tiring when you have to do that for a whole half. They have so many threats, inverted wingers, Bruno dropping into the pocket and spinning in behind. It is difficult becuse you are constantly on your toes.
"I am just delighted to get the clean sheet and happy for the defensive unit that we could get that because it is important for us to build on."
More to come from Palace? "We lost some key players in the summer, everyone knows that, but we brought in some good players too. It just takes time for people to get up to speed, get on the same level and understand the system.
"We've got a a great system here and we are all fully behind the manager. We believe that it will all come together once everyone is up to full fitness and people start to understand their roles a bit more. We need to just be Palace, be hard to beat and hard to play against, we need to get back to that level that we reached at the end of last season."

Another poor performance, orchestrated by Erik ten Hag. Unbelievably naive, short-sighted, and complete lack of belief from the United manager. The only reason that game ended as a draw was ten Hag.
Dave
That United performance wasn't horrendous, it was just boring, which is an improvement on the last time we played Palace. Small victories.
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson speaking to Sky Sports: "I think in the end it was [a good point]. We missed a couple of key opportunities. There was one in the second half where we could have scrambled the ball over the line, Andre Onana made a great save and we were unlucky in the end.
"I think it was certainly a game of two halves. After the first half we will take the point and be delighted with it."
On if expectations were raised by last season's win: "No I think we were attacking the game to win it and we had a game plan to do so. I don't think it quite worked in the first half. We made some tweaks in the second half, which made us more aggresive and on the front foot, and that gave us more success in the second half."
Half-time message from the manager: "He spoke about the intensity and belief. He was frustrated with the way we were playing, he felt we were being too cautious. He said to take the safety cap off and go for it. Nights like tonight as the underdog you've got nothing to lose, so you have to go for it."
More from Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana on Sky Sports: "It’s always nice to keep a clean sheet but the most important thing, especially playing for Manchester United, you have to win. We didn’t win today, but we came here with the mentality [to win]. We will go back home disappointed."
On Rasmus Hojlund returning: "Hopefully, yes. He’s a key player for us and we are all happy because he’s coming back and (Tyrell) Malacia also came back yesterday, so it’s important to have everyone back and then the manager will make the choice and we’ll be happy with that. We’ll have to see this guy on the pitch, but I know he will score important goals for us. We need our guys back, we need Luke Shaw back. I’m happy to see him on the pitch."
On whether the difference with the top teams is winning these tough games: "When you win, it is always a nice feeling, especially when you have the big players we have, the quality we have. I think today was a very important game for us to win, but I go back home sad because Manchester United, everywhere we go, we have to play good football. We have to win, we have to be dominant. We have to create chances and we have to finish. Today, our guys did their best but didn’t put the ball in the net."
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana talking to Sky Sports: "I don’t think it [his best save] is so important because we didn’t win. We
are such a big club. When we move somewhere, we have the ambition to try to
win. We didn’t win but I’m happy for the work, the sacrifice of my team-mates
because I think we were better than them. We had so many chances but
unfortunately, we didn’t score. It’s difficult to come back with one point when
we deserved to win."
On thinking United would score: "To be honest, yes. I thought so. Football sometimes, you can’t
control everything. We were coming in, we had more chances and I had faith
always in my guys. Today, we hit the crossbar twice and hopefully in the coming
games, we will score a lot."
On Crystal Palace's chances: "I think we were better than them, I think we were way better
than them. We had more chances than them. We had the best chances during the
game. Of course, they are a very good team, but we were way better than them."
Crystal Palace did the double over Manchester United in the Premier League last season, the first time they’ve ever beaten them in consecutive league matches.
Manchester United have lost two of their last three away league games against Crystal Palace (D1), having been unbeaten in their previous 13 such visits to face the Eagles at Selhurst Park (W9 D4).
Having won none of their first 20 Premier League meetings with Manchester United (D4 L16), Crystal Palace have now won five of their last 10 against them in the division (D2 L3).
Manchester United have won just two of their last 16 Premier League away games against London sides (D4 L10), with both of those victories coming against Fulham (2-1 November 2022, 1-0 November 2023). The Red Devils have lost as many Premier League games in the capital since Alex Ferguson’s retirement (24 in 64 visits) as they had in 118 such matches with the Scotsman in charge.
Crystal Palace remain winless in the Premier League so far this season (D2 L2), having won six of their final seven league games in 2023-24 (D1).
Manchester United have kept three clean sheets in their last five Premier League games, as many as they had in their previous 24 matches. However, they’ve lost both matches in which they’ve conceded in this run.
Manchester United have the third highest expected goals total in the Premier League this season (7.9), but have scored just five goals – only Southampton have underperformed their xG (4.6 xG, 1 goal) more than the Red Devils so far this term.
Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace beat Manchester United 4-0 in the Premier League last season – only eight managers have ever won their first two against the Red Devils in the competition, most recently Roberto De Zerbi with Brighton in September 2023.
Since Oliver Glasner’s first game in charge in February, only Erling Haaland (19) has scored more Premier League goals than Jean-Philippe Mateta (15 in 17 games). In that time he’s scored multiple goals on four occasions (3 braces, 1 hat-trick) – only Wilfried Zaha has ever scored more than once in more different Premier League games for the Eagles (6 braces).
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has had more shots without scoring than any other player in the Premier League so far this season (13).
